Pick the lock that suits you
Lock your apps with a knock code, a 4-digit PIN or a pattern, and unlock with your fingerprint or face on supported phones. Extra options make it hard for anyone watching to learn your code.
Knock code
Tap a sequence of 4 to 8 knocks on a 2×2 grid. There's no number or shape for someone to memorize.
PIN, pattern and biometrics
Use a 4-digit PIN or a pattern of at least 4 dots, then turn on fingerprint or face unlock in Settings.
Stops shoulder-surfing
Shuffle the keypad each time, hide your pattern or knock trail, and set a password hint or security question in case you forget.
How to turn it on
- Choose Passcode, Pattern or Knock Code when you first open App Lock.
- Enter it twice to confirm.
- To change it later, go to Settings › Unlock Settings › Change Lock.
- Turn on fingerprint or face unlock in Settings › Biometric Lock.
Questions
What if I forget my lock?
On App Lock's own lock screen, open the menu and tap Forget Passcode. You can reset with your security answer or your fingerprint.
Does fingerprint work on every phone?
Fingerprint and face unlock work on Android phones that support them. You can always use your PIN, pattern or knock code.
